Our Week
On Monday we watched home alone 2 lost in New york and read a bio on Macaulay Culkin. Did you know he's 31 now? and he's pretty short standing 5'7"! And my dad and I played some intense Basketball whoo quite the work out. We also did intense math +=- so fun.
Tuesday we went to Trout Park in Elgin and got to drive a golf cart (I was good at it for 10) and announced a Baseball game and got to play with Josie Kate's family dog for a while. Kate.......
Monday was a relaxing and productive day. We're working on reviewing Adele's math journal from fourth grade so she's all set for middle school math. We've been working on fractions, percentages, multiplication, and long division. Working with Adele is helping me brush up on my math skills too!
Yesterday the weather was awesome and we spent the day at Trout Park baseball field in Elgin. for the CABA tournament. My dog, Josie, joined us for the day. Even though we woke her up from a nap she was excited to be outside in the sunshine sniffing for fallen hot dogs. Not only did we get to spend time outside but we also got to help with tasks around the park. Adele announced an entire baseball game and did such a great job! She also got to drive the Trout Park golf cart on the field and around the park; she was a natural. I spent two summers working at Trout Park so it was cool for me to be able to show Adele the field and what I used to do.
Trout Park is a great place for athletes, children, and families! To learn more about the field, visit www.troutparkbaseball.org
The icky weather today has us trapped inside for the morning but we may venture out and do some biking and blading before lunch. Hope you're enjoying your week. Stay tuned for more updates on our second summer together!

Hello again It's Adele! Well today we hung out and did math.... And saw Josh! Just incase you were wondering Josh is Kate's BF (Boyfriend). Well while hanging with Josh we went to DQ and Paws Chicago the non kill animal shelter which we love! unfortunately Paws had no air conditioning so the animals had to be moved to different areas with cooler air and if you were just looking and not for sure buying you couldn't come in so that was it with Josh and that adventure. Kate....
I can't imagine how hot the dogs and cats at PAWS must be today. This is the second consecutive day of excessive heat warnings in Chicago and it is HOT. Yesterday, the temperature reached 100 degrees for the first time in six years. Although we've run some errands and had some adventures, we've tried to stay in doors as much as possible. The air conditioning and DQ ice cream definitely make the heat more tolerable. We've also been drinking a lot of water and making sure that we stay hydrated.
We also yesterday saw Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows part 2..... AWESOME!!! and we went to my personal favorite movie theater The Icon in the Roosevelt Collection obviously on Chicago! I had a Hot dog and Milk Duds straying from my normal snack of Pretzel Bites.
I've read all seven of the books in the Harry Potter series and have seen all of the movies. I was so excited for the conclusion! I made Adele to promise to see it with me and she waited patiently until Wednesday afternoon when we could go together. We both LOVED it! I felt like it followed the book really closely (as all the movies have) and was impressed with the special effects. I can't believe that the Harry Potter series is officially over, it's like the end of an era. I've missed the books and I know that I'll miss having a movie to look forward to. Maybe it's time to re-read? : )

Hello Its Adele and yes this is are come back we are now blogging again so if you want something interesting to read then read this cause the many ADVENTURES me and Kate take are a lot so you'll have entertainment for days if continue to read so read up learn about us and comment.
It's true; Adele and I have returned for our second summer of adventures! We've already had so much fun together and summer's just begun. We kicked off the summer with Adele's fourth grade bridging ceremony... can't believe that she'll start middle school next year. After a fun week together we both took off on vacation. Adele went to Mexico and I went to Michigan (obviously her vacation was a little more exciting than mine). Since coming back from vacation we've had lots of fun! We still love to bike and blade but Adele got rollerblades this summer and is growing into quite the little blader. We practice our skills at the park and around her neighborhood. We also love packing our lunch and going on picnics. We've visited the PAWS Chicago (no kill) animal shelter twice where we've played with kitties and puppies in need of some TLC. For the first time we ventured to the Lincoln Park Green City Market where we sampled organic treats from local farmers. We've had a few play dates, lunch dates, and girls nights. Obviously, our schedule keeps us pretty busy and sometimes we get tired so we find time to relax with manis/pedis and our fave TV shows.
As normal, animals grow so that means that obviously Mandy has with a good size of 18-20 pounds she still owns the streets of Chi-Town. With everyone loving on her and comfy leather theater chairs if you see this dog she is one diva with quite the personalities. Well were not boring so we venture places recently that place was Forever Yogurt. A place on Belmont right near the red line with 14 flavors of self serve yogurt there a hit to young and old.
Hmmm..... I can't decide if the above comment was a reference to my age. I'm not that old Adele (no...no...no... you got it all wrong I mean like grandpas. No offense grandpa)! We did both love Forever Yogurt and will definitely be back.
This weekend Adele is heading to Wisconsin Dells with her mom and a friend followed by a trip to Connecticut/New York with her cousin (partner in crime, Elise). I'll definitely miss her while she's gone. We'll be updating regularly for the rest of the summer after she gets home. Stay tuned for more information and updates on our adventures! Happy Summer!
Sorry but before we go one more update I'm now ten going 11 in January and Kate is 25 going on 26 in March ;)

MANDY! :)
I have a dog named Mandy and she is the star at her obedience school. She sits stays and she knows down and eye contact. She is the star of the show when we walk her everyone is like "can we pet her? what breed is she? what her name?" it gets annoying.
Adele got Mandy, her Puggle, at the end of third grade. She and her dad found her through a breeder in Oklahoma. Adele was so excited to get her puppy and we were literally counting down the days until she arrived. Mandy is absolutely precious and she adores Adele. She is definitely a puppy but she's very smart and playful. We are working on sit, stay, down and eye contact. Mandy gets assignments at her obedience class every week that she and Adele practice for homework.
Here are some cute pictures of my puppy! Isn't she adorable?

Monday, June 21st Sick Day
Adele has had a bad cough for the past week and a half. After a visit to the doctor on Saturday, she found out that she had walking pneumonia! Poor little thing. Today was supposed to be her first day at Summer Camp but instead she's stuck at home. The two of us are spending the day relaxing, drinking lots of fluids and catching up on our favorite shows.
"HAVING PNEUMONIA STINKS" "I HATE HAVING JRA, MOLESCUM AND PNEUMONIA STINKS MMMMMMM....."
My little buddy isn't feeling her best today but she's making the best of it.

Friday June, 18th "Toy Story 3"
Friday, Kate andI went to the Icon Theater to see "Toy Story 3". It was a great movie and I like the adventure and action from the movie. The movie was funny and had all the charters that make it funny. I think everyone got a kick out of Mr. Pork Chop and Mr. and Mrs. Potato head and their little orphans from Pizza Planet ; but Bo peep was gone and so was wheezy. I also recommend the Icon theater in the Roosevelt Collection; the theater was the cleanest theater ever, they have coffee, tea, pretzel bites, frozen yogurt (it's like berry chill in there) etc.
I was so excited when Adele agreed to see "Toy Story 3" with me. I am a huge fan of Disney Pixar movies but as I've gotten older, most of my friends (and my boyfriend) are much less interested in cartoons than I am, so I was glad that I had a buddy to hit the theatre with me. Even though Friday was opening day for the movie, Adele and I used Fandango to buy our tickets online. Another perk of the Icon Theatre at the Roosevelt Collection is that specific seat numbers are assigned when tickets are purchased, so if you buy your tickets online early, you're ensured a great seat. The theatre is located in Chicago's south loop and is only about a 15 minute drive from Lincoln Park, plus they offer discounts for children (anyone under 14) and students (with a valid ID), which made the cost of the show reasonable. The movie was really cute and not only had great animation and effects but also contained elements of both adult and youth humor. The plot was exciting, humorous and touching. According to the critics, "Toy Story 3" was dubbed one of the best movies of summer 2010. If you have kids, work with children or are just looking for a fun, feel good movie, I encourage you to purchase your tickets online at www.Fandango.com and check it out.
